Manaiakalani reflection 2013
The thing that I enjoy having a netbook this year is being able to do research’s online when needed. Having a netbook helps me learn more online than using paper and pen.On netbooks you can do a lot of cool things, like sharing one document with a friend.Having a netbook provides us with learning and thinking.I have learnt that when you're online and offline you are leaving footprints online. With our netbooks we get to share with people around the world our works that we have been doing.

Jessica Niue netball
Waiting for the buzzer to go as the referee took a huge breath in, and blow the whistle as solid as she could. We all ran into space to intercept the ball from the middle. It started to splash with raindrops ,as the court got slippery,we all tumbled down with laughter. After it was 20 minutes the buzzer went (means 1st games over) and both teams came equally.
Laughing hard out as we got off the court, our manager of the team was furious, because we could off improved better.rounded up in a circle having a group talk about our next game.About an hour it was time for our 2nd game.
Tripping and falling, two people were injured, trying to find two players to play for our team.Leading the points we all played hard scoring and defending getting our ball back. The time came down to 2 minutes we tried hard to keep our tally up. Beep the buzzer went we were all glad of ourselves for winning against Atoi (Niue villages).
This morning we had 40 minutes in total to write about anything exciting that happened in the holidays. Here is what i wrote aboute

Martin Luther King
Elbow to elbow everyone was singing and marching in unison, fighting for equality for blacks.Pushing my way out through the stuffy crowd. Finally we made it to the the Lincoln Memorial, I was trying to get a better view of the statute Abraham Lincoln.I was Mesmerised!
As I was searching for my parents, my mother was calling me in such a huge voice. So I grabbed on to my little sister’s hand tightly and sprinted towards my mum. As we heard people clapping and cheering while MARTIN LUTHER KING took the stage.
The speech that MARTIN LUTHER KING did was about being equal with the white people. The words that came out of MARTIN LUTHER KING mouth was very inspirational.

My DLO
So I know that 2/5 is a fraction. And I know that something has been splited into 5 parts. Now I am going to multiply something to get to 20.So i know that if i go 5x4=20 but i don't want the whole thing I only want 2 pieces of it.Then I go 2x4=8 so i know that 2/5 is 8.

How can I accelerate my learning
Our teacher Mr Barks has given us a job to do,our job was to look at a video that will help us accelerate our learning. So we had to pick an area that will help us learn,so I picked Strategy 1 which was all about Fraction,Decimals and Percentages. I think that I am really getting a hang of it and starting to get it.

Things I have enjoyed
Yellow Hat - The things I enjoyed
One thing that I have enjoyed about making movies is working with my friends and making movies.

About fiafia
On Thursday the 18th 2013 Pt England school had there own FIAFIA on the last day of school.Knowing that we are suppose to be there before 6:00pm. On our way to school I saw a lot of people making there way into school grounds.A huge crowd of people all over the place buying things from other stores and gathering around with their families. The bell rings just to let us know that we have to meet back in our changing rooms to get dress.A couple of minutes later the Niue an group was set and ready to go,with the girls hairs bushed up like savages. At 7:00pm Vivienne first said the prayer in Tongan, and then lead by Gabriel and so on fiafia started.I had butterflies in my stomach when i turned back and saw a lot of people standing there looking. After 8 performance finished we were called to stand up and make our way to the side of the stage. Finally it was time to perform before we started i had butterflies in my stomach but then I felt better and still wanted to perform. After that we headed back changing rooms to get change.

Jessica-grace argument
For:
Camp can give you a chance to be a leader. Also it is a great way to make new friends. Another reason for having the camp is it gives us an opportunity to participate in lots of different or new activities. Therefore we believe we should have a year 7 and 8 camp.
Para 1- chance to be a leader
Being chosen to be a leader would obviously be an awesome opportunity to have. Well as leading a team you have to encourage your teammates to participate in every activity’s you do.
Para 2 - new friends.
Making new friends can be a part of your learning because using the 3’ps help you meet new members to (Participation,Partnership,Protection).
Para 3 - new activity
Also at the same time we are having fun learning new skills like how to bake, swim and even kayak. You might even notice that you rock at cooking sometimes, and even want to show your experience.
Conclusion: We think that it will be a great opportunity to have a year 7’s and 8’s camp every year because a lot of people can meet new friends. For some parents there opinion is no because it to dare or they might get sick. But also its not fair that the year six’s and five’s go but not the year 7’s and 8’s.Therefore we believe we should have a year 7 and 8 camp.

Show not tell 1
Standing out in the sun It felt like I had been grilled for supper. Huffing and puffing as I ran toward the try line. As I felt the sweat dripped down my forehead slowly.

"Show no tell"by Jessica and Grace
Standing in the queue waiting to buy ice-cream, on a steaming sunlit day. Sweat dripped down my forehead slowly as if the temperature had gone up. It felt like my body has been in a fire I said.”Phew finally I made it to a shady tree”.

My first trip to Australia
In the past few weeks me and my family went for a holiday down at Australia for 2 weeks.”Mum we are going to be late I shouted with excitement”.Leaving the house at 3:30am in the morning, meeting half of the family at the airport.Knowing that we are suppose to be there before 4:00am.Now it is 6:00am and its time to go on board.Brisbane here we come I whispered quietly to my mum.
Arriving at the airport in Australia making our way to pick up our baggages.”May I see your passport please the man said with a kind voice”.Walking around in circles looking for our luggages.Found it a deep voice coming from the other side, knowing that it was my aunty.
